ABOUT NICK

As the son of a US Diplomat, my journey has been a global one, shaped by diverse cultures and experiences. Films by the likes of Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Tim Burton, and M. Night Shyamalan served as my lifeline to my home country during those pre-internet years. In grade school, I rounded up the other kids in the neighborhood and shot spec commercials for my favorite video games with our family handycam. My passion for filmmaking grew as I immersed myself in video production classes and community television throughout high school.

After college, I began my career working as an associate video producer for a Fortune 500 company in the Washington, DC area. My work took me all over the country as I collaborated on projects with over a dozen governmental departments and agencies. Those formative years were a wonderful opportunity to hone my craft, but eventually I felt the need for a change of scenery. So, I packed up my camera gear and made my way to the coolest city in the country: Portland!

I began to freelance in video production and editing. Nine years into this journey, I've had the privilege of collaborating with a wide range of clients who have taken me to into headquarters, hospitals, helicopters, and habitats. I can't envision a more fulfilling career.

Outside of my professional life, I’m a proud cat parent with my wife, Joanna, and an avid hiker. I enjoy supporting fellow filmmakers realize their creative visions, and I love experimenting with older character-rich cameras and lenses to create unique visuals.

In my commitment to making a positive impact, I offer special rates for projects that center on climate activism, conservation efforts, and biology studies. It is my sincere belief that through the power of storytelling, we can contribute to a better world.
